A plein-air study painting on location at Erstavik's beach near Saltsjöbaden, depicting the nearshore vegetation and the water's edge. I was immediately struck by the quiet subtlety of the scene — the soft light blending the blues and lilacs of the water with the muted greens along the shore, creating a peaceful atmosphere that drew me in. A mostly cool palette of deep lilac and earth greens for the foreground, punctuated by green-gold marks for the reeds.

Painted on site in approximately 2–3 hours, this was an immediate response to a specific moment. Measuring only 20 × 22.5 cm, this is one of the smallest pieces in the collection. It's perfect for placing on a desk or shelf where you can enjoy it up close.

A sister scene, 'Whispering Waters,' was from a serene spot just around the corner from this one; these two paintings sit well together as a pair.

Exhibited in Lumens, Sally Herriott's solo exhibition in Stockholm in 2025 and at the Grünewaldvillan, Saltsjöbaden, 2026.
